The Reconfigured Podcast House Rules
- We use a service called Riverside FM, it will record the entire conversation that we will conduct. But before closing the web tab please make sure that Riverside have uploaded everything from your side before hanging up, it will give an indicator that you can safely close the web tab.
- You can ask for the video files, audio files, and transcript generated from the call at any time you please and you can share them on your own social media accounts in any way you please.
- We will be sharing the podcast episode on different platforms, on YouTube we will publish the video format and on all major audio platforms (Spotify, Anghami, Deezer, Apple Podcasts, and much more).
- We recommend having a decent microphone, fast speed internet, and your web browser updated to provide the highest quality possible (Riverside will capture audio and video from your device locally and upload them at the end of the call).
- We do allow explicit words to pass on the podcast, you are free to express your thoughts using curse words.
- We do not allow to mention individuals, companies, or entities in a bad way, we might censor the names with a noise to cover it up or cut it. We recommend you to say sentences that indicate that you are mentioning someone or a company but without mentioning the name at all, example: "there is this person who I won't name does X" or "there is this company that I won't name does Y".
- We will send the questions that we will ask on the podcast for one logical reason: we want to make everything clear on both sides, the main purpose is to benefit people not interrogating you or pressuring you online. If any question mentioned down you are not comfortable or conflict with, kindly state that you want to remove this question and we will remove it with no conflicts at all (suggesting questions that you want us to ask is valued, appreciated, and will be taken into consideration).
- We will send you a scheduling link to find the day that suits you best and fits both of our schedules.
- Make sure all your equipment are running as expected before doing the call ideally before 24 hours and 3 hours before the stream.
- Incase something happened on your side and you wish to postpone the episode to a later day, consider contacting us 1-2 days before the call.
- We do our recordings solely on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) from 2 pm to 8 pm Beirut time, pick a time and date that you are comfortable with. (There are exceptions for weekdays but at specific timing, they will be available in the scheduling link)
- Please ensure your camera quality is beyond 480p (720p is a good start, 1080p is recommended, and 4K is super preferred from my side and what I currently use with the Logitech Brio 4K but any modern webcam works) and please ensure that you have a decent microphone to work with or have a headset with a decent microphone (we do some sound editing to make it crystal clear but it has some levels hence having a decent microphone makes our work easier, not necessarily having a studio level microphone like my mic which is a Shure SM7B, there are budget friendly mics that sound fantastic like the Logitech Blue Yeti)
- Ensure that you are in a well organized environment, we don't allow blurring backgrounds and Riverside FM (the service we use to record) doesn't allow blurring backgrounds unlike Zoom. We want the conversation to be authentic and genuine as possible hence blurring backgrounds is not allowed, all previous podcast guests have followed this and I hope you would the same!
